Even though I love print newsletters my clients don't. I'm changing the format starting with my March newsletter.
I'm still going to publish my print newsletter but even that is going to change. I'm going to make it more of a coffee shop reader due out in April. (More on that at another time but if your looking for affordable advertising for your business let's chat.)
I will continue to provide print capable newsletters but only on a as requested basis.
Why the change?
Even though studies show that people enjoy print newsletters more and more newsletters are read on mobile devices. Many people find the cost of sending a print newsletter expensive and with the upcoming increase in postage it is getting more expensive.
Some of the gains I will get by going to a digital format are
- it will be easier and faster to publish my newsletter
- I will be able to send it to more people because I have more email addresses than mailing addresses. (Mailing addresses is a whole different topic and I'm surprised at the number of business people who don't have and address on their cards OR their websites.)
- people will be able to respond to my newsletter easier and faster
I still love print newsletters but... there is a time and place for them, such as coffee shops or to a smaller audience.
