I know, I'm doing it to follow up to a number of letters I've sent and it hasn't worked. More contact and proving my value would get better results. The opportunities I'm getting come from my warm market.
Here's an interesting tidbit about cold-calling;
Hot to Trot Marketing surveyed 20 telemarketing agencies, with an average of 73 seats each – about 1,460 callers – and checked how many dials it took get through, or make contact. Here are the numbers they came up with;
- 2006 - 4
- 2007 - 10
- 2008 -18
- 2009 - 29
- 2010 - 41
