I spoke with a 24 year old university student. She has no dreams or plans after finishing university. She "hopes" she is going to get a job in her field. If she doesn't she will continue to work part-time in a pub until something better comes along.
A 34 year old salesman said he "hopes" things will keep going well in his sales job. He plans to work until he is about 60 and "hopefully" retire.
A 28 year old nurse "hopes" she will get full time work soon.
A 54 year old manager in a large company "hopes" he gets a package. When I asked him what he would do if he did he didn't know or have any plans.
A 34 year old bank employee hopes to get a job at another bank because it pays better but has no real dream job or employment.
A 32 year old roofer hopes his knees hold out. He has know idea of what he would do if bad health forced him off the roof.
It doesn't seem to matter what industry, trade, profession, career or job people have they don't seem to have dreams of something bigger, better or bolder. Everybody seems to be hanging on "hoping" that nothing changes.
I'm older than these people and had more ups and downs than I can list here. But... I have something they don't have. I have BIG DREAMS. Every day I do something to get me closer to my BIG DREAMS. I make one more phone call, I follow up with people, I write one more article for my subscription service, I work on my newsletter, I contact people about the opportunity with my home based business and I believe I will achieve my dream. I know I will achieve my dream because I won't quit.
It saddens me when I think about the people I spoke to. It must be hard to live without a dream.
What about you? Do you have dreams? Do you have BIG EXCITING DREAMS?
Why don't we dream anymore? Why aren't we DREAMING BIG about our future?
Who stole our dreams?
Have we stopped dreaming because we spend so much time on social media or watching TV that we don't take time to dream?
Have we stopped dreaming because we are overwhelmed with bad news from around the world?
Have we stopped dreaming because we've given up hope of ever achieving our dreams?
Why have we stopped dreaming?
This country was built on dreams that became reality.
"You have to dream before your dreams can come true." A. P. J. Abdul Kalam
"All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible." T. E. Lawrence
"When you cease to dream you cease to live." Malcolm Forbes
My dreams are move to;
