Why I write...
When I was in school I loved writing and reading. If there was a writing assignment I did it. I wrote short stories, poetry, essays, projects. I enjoy the process of taking ideas and turning them into coherent thoughts. I write because I have to.
What do I write? Here's a list... followed by a few comments;
In fact, if it needs to be written I write it.
I write copy because it's a great way to tell stories and educate people about products, opportunities, causes and companies. I'm not a traditional "hard sell" copywriter. I don't stuff my writing with "buy now" "on sale" "act now and get a discount". Writing copy with those messages usually results in people not doing anything and often loses business.
Ask yourself, when you're on a website do you read the full page if it has a lot of "buy now" or "special offer" and "testimonials" splashed through it? I don't. I often scroll down to the bottom of the page, scanning through the gibberish looking for a reason to buy and the price. If I can't find both quickly and easily then I move on. Why? The writing didn't capture my attention and certainly didn't make me pull out my wallet because the story was boring.
My writing tells stories. True stories, not hyped up testimonials from fictitious people. Stories that explain how and why the product or service was used and how the person benefited from using it.
Thousands of business gurus, coaches, marketing professionals urge people to write so they can build a reputation and increase business. What they don't tell you is that a poorly written article damages your reputation and the results you hoped to get from writing.
A well written article is a great way to open new doors, become a known resource and build relationships. The keys to successful article writing are understanding your audience and writing so that you entertain and educate them. Hiring a professional writer to write for you will make a huge difference in your results.
I write blogs for busy people because blogging helps people build relationships and educate people. When you read my blog you'll get a feeling of my writing. BUT... that's my writing. When I write for you I study your website, I ask you questions, I get to know your voice so that when I write I speak the way you do.
Today many businesses use special reports or white papers to help generate leads on their websites. A well written white paper often leads to and opportunity to connect with people interested in your business. If you're looking for a reliable source for white papers to promote your products, service or business I can help.
If you need it written, I write it.
I write about anything and everything - almost.
Why do I write?
I write because I enjoy writing and because I believe that my writing will entertain, irritate, bother, educate, inspire, or encourage somebody somewhere. Article writing is a great way to
I may not ever become as well known as Dan Kennedy, David Garfinkel, Steven King, Oprah Winfrey, F.Scott Fitzgerald, Jeff Goins, Seth Godin, J.D. Salinger, Robert A. Heinlein, Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury - you get my drift. I will however write and write and write. I am a writer.
Sales and Tales is a newsletter I publish and send on an irregular schedule. It contains articles and brain teasers. It is both educational and fun.
