As a sales person and business owner I need to generate new leads every day to keep my business flowing profitably.
To solve the lead generating problem I did a few things every day so that I had new people to talk to.
1) I set up a regular direct mail campaign
2) I publish a monthly newsletter
3) I follow up on past clients and information requests
Every work day I spend time generating leads no matter how busy I am. I like to write in the morning so that's my work time. If I need to meet a client I schedule it for around 1p.m. I spend from 3p.m. to 5p.m. on reaching out to new prospects.
By doing this I've found that my business is growing slowly and steadily. I've also found that I can manage my marketing budget better because I know how much I will be spending every day and I keep from having to do a huge lump sum spend on marketing.
