What are your plans for the weekend?
I'm going to a training session all day Saturday so that I can learn more about my business and so that I can help my team do better at their business.
Sunday depends on the weather. Got some Geocaching planned if it's not raining too hard.
While you're relaxing or working this weekend what will you be thinking about?
Will you be thinking of different ways to improve your life? Will you be thinking of different ways to earn money so that you can enjoy life more and work less?
I will be thinking about both those things. The training session I am going to is teaching me the skills to help myself and my team become more successful at what we do. In my business if you do it right you can earn more money working part-time than some people do working full time. Improving my business and myself are part of our goal of moving to Victoria, B.C. We get closer all the time as my business grows and the date grows closer. It is very exciting to see it becoming more real each day.
"Stop setting goals. Goals are pure fantasy unless you have a specific plan to achieve them."
As you can tell I have a plan. Luck won't get us to Victoria. Working smart, consistently and effectively will get us there. I am very excited about our goal and my plans. Can you imagine what it would be like to live in an area you want to live not have to live? Can you imagine what it will be like to live where you want and only have to work part-time to afford it?
Why am I so excited?
Because I really want it and can see it happening.
I believe that if your goals don't excite you and challenge you then they are not big enough or bold enough.
There are many different ideas about setting goals. I have developed my own thought process to set and achieve goals.
1) First I imagine it.
2) Then I question it.
a) Does it excite me?
b) Does it challenge me?
c) Is it meaningful to me?
d) Do I believe I can achieve it?
e) Am I willing to work for it?
f) Am I willing to make sacrifices to achieve it?
If I answer yes to those questions then I create a plan and decide on a timeline to make it happen. Once the plan is done I focus myself and work on the plan tweaking it and changing it so that I achieve my goal.
How do you decide and set your goals?
What goals do you have planned for your life? What are you doing to achieve them?
I know these are pretty deep thoughts to carry into the weekend but I know that by setting goals, focusing on them and working towards them many people (me included) enjoy life more.
All the best,
"When it is obvious that the goals cannot be reached, don't adjust the goals, adjust the action steps." Confucius
"Our goals can only be reached through a vehicle of a plan, in which we must fervently believe, and upon which we must vigorously act. There is no other route to success." Pablo Picasso
"Every day you spend drifting away from your goals is a waste not only of that day, but also of the additional day it takes to regain lost ground." Ralph Marston
